About Me
Lolade is a social development professional and community impact leader with over five years of experience designing and delivering grassroots and policy-aligned interventions across health, education, gender equity, and youth empowerment. Her work spans community development, volunteer mobilisation, advocacy, and project management, with a strong focus on translating social challenges into sustainable, people-centred solutions.
She is the Founder of the Breaking the Barriers Initiative, established in 2023 with support from a seed grant by YIAGA Africa and UKAID. The initiative is dedicated to empowering girls and women through advocacy, civic engagement, leadership development, and community-based action. Since its inception, Breaking the Barriers has reached over 1,000 women and girls through targeted programmes that strengthen voice, participation, and social inclusion.
One of its flagship programmes, Beyond Campus, supported by Ark and Rainbow Development Foundation, focuses on equipping undergraduate students with the skills, knowledge, and mentorship needed to navigate career pathways and transition successfully from school into purposeful professional life.
Lolade’s work aligns strongly with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 5 (Gender Equality). She brings a results-driven, systems-thinking approach to social impact work, grounded in accountability, equity, and a long-term vision for community-led transformation.
